A Greek Stoic philosopher of the first and second century, Epictetus settled permanently in Nicopolis in Epirus, where he founded his own school, which he called a ‘healing place for sick souls.’ There he taught a practical philosophy, which has been recorded by his principal student Arrian, the famous author of the historical work ‘Anabasis of Alexander’. Review: Been a philosophy bum for years.Read Bertram Russel, Emanuel Kant, Plato, Aristotle, and most philosophers are trying to impress you with their intelligence but I JUST DIDNT GET IT!However I got the Harvard collection (about 20 thousand pages of the most important books of western material.The Harvard collection has a little book on Stoic philosophy. “The Enchiridion” by Epictetus. For the first time philosophy clicked into focus I want to go back and read And re-read Epictetus so I bought this kindle volume that had all of the writings of Epictetus
